Day 1: Ferry crossing to Ireland. Arrive and settle into your hotel base.
Day 2: Get to know the city of Kilkenny with a guided walking tour of the Medieval Mile, past 13th century cathedral, Anglo-Norman castle and much more besides – indeed ‘twas once the scene of the first witch trial (touristic train ride can be an alternative option) . Stop in for a tour and tasting at the Smithwick’s Experience sampling one of Ireland’s most famous beers! There is plenty of options for evening meals and entertainment in the local bars and taverns including the atmospheric Kyteler’s Inn Medieval Bar.
Day 3: This morning visit Kilkenny Castle, with 800 years of continual history including a painstaking recent restoration, its interior and exterior public parkland will delight. Rest of the day at leisure in the colourful Kilkenny.
Day 4: Depart your hotel after breakfast. Ferry crossing back to the UK.
